Benji photographing the amazing view from Great Pinseat in Swaledale

I went up to the Dales Bike Centre with Benji as part of a feature for Singletrack Mountain Bike Magazine. Basically I had £100 to spend on a mountain bike weekend and the whole story will be in the soon to appear issue 53 of the mag.

There’s a right nice cafe there

We had fantastic weather, dry trails and received a warm welcome from Stu, Brenda, Anthony and Jamie. The centre is in Swaledale up in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Swaledale is a “climbers valley” and only an idiot would ride singlespeed there

I only took 2 photos all weekend and they were of the bonfires. Loads better than a dodgy DJ or an old hat band the good old campfire with good company and lashings of beer is the best entertainment. Above is Friday’s fire and below is Saturday’s.

Oh and the riding was just right too with the downhill, trials and cross country racing. See you there next year on 3rd & 4th July 2010. Great Rock will again be leading skills days and pre-rides of the course leading up to the event.
