Decade Tripster

Something completely different for me to ride here. I’ve been sent this sharp looking Decade Tripster, fully built up by the guys from Upgrade who distribute this brand along with others like DMR, Kinesis and Lezyne. The frame is highly versatile and can be built up as a fast commuter bike in loads of different ways. Flat bars, drop bars, 700c wheels, 26 inch wheels, hipster commuter, tourer or road bike. I have the bike in a cyclocross build, with 700c wheels, disc brakes and off road ‘cross tyres and I’m planning on trying out the bike on mixed up routes of road, tracks and single track trails. I’ve had one ride so far and it’s lot different to what I’m used to….but I like it.
With this bike I’ll be doing some “fake commuting”, making a video cast and there might even be some cyclocross skills courses in the pipeline.
I think I quite like my job.

Sounds similar in concept to my Planet X Kaffenback. I commute, road tour, ride easy trails and did Tod Cross on mine. Very versatile and lots of fun.

Where abouts will you be riding this Decade Tripster? I have enjoyed riding in the past and have done coast to coast from Blackpool to Bridlington. I did however suffer for this as I did not wear the right sort of clothing, so had pretty bad sores and also I had had no training. Not a good idea, but would love to know which ride you would consider good.

I’ve been riding around my home area in N.W. England. Some off road and some on road. This week I’m going to ride a 100 mile road route in the Yorkshire Dales with a friend who competes in the Ironman races. It will make me….or break me.

There are some fantastic cycle rides around the British Isles, a good way of finding out more is by surfing the web. I have recently done a good ride in Cumbria, it is especially good for mountain bikers in particular.
