Greek Rock

Here a great edit made by BB Chris documenting the Great Rock skills week on Ymittos mountain. Just outside Athens, the mountain makes an excellent location for skills sessions and I ran 5 days of courses with 40 Greek riders. Thanks to Fotis for organising the week and to Jack for being my assistant and all round butler. I’m hoping to go back to Athens later in the year to run more courses. Thanks as well to Chris who made this video whilst on the course and to George for some of the footage.

I’m in Greece

All this week I’m lucky enough to be working in Greece leading skills courses for local mountain bikers. The riding scene is thriving here and I have been made very welcome. This is a promo made for my visit. I’m privileged to appear alongside Pan, some beer and lots of lamb…….

I’ll be back early next week to carry on a busy programme of skills courses in the UK before heading out again in June to Spain to run courses in the Basque Country. All details are in the tabs above.

It’s not all £5k bikes and massive drop offs

Pete and Trace came along on their Cube hardtails to do a skills day on the the Blue grade trails at Gisburn Forest last week. They’d picked their bikes up in a bargain deal from Twelve50 bikes in Frodsham, Cheshire. We looked at the basics of riding off road and soon they were riding in a more controlled and relaxed way. Standing up on the pedals, looking well ahead and making good line choices paid off and they started to flow rather than stall on the trails. With a bit of practice and the boost in confidence that comes with mastering the basics, they’ll soon be ready to start venturing on to Red grade trails.

Adventure & Action Sports – May Contain Oxleys

Adventure and Action Sports Showreel. from Henry Iddon on Vimeo.

Here’s a top new showreel from photographer Henry Iddon. Nial and myself did a couple of photo shoots with Henry recently and it’s great to see us on our bikes in this edit with all the other people living the dream outside.

James & Ollie at Gisburn

James and Ollie came for a 2 to 1 skills day up at Gisburn Forest. Riding their mint Turner 5 Spots, they wanted to look at various skills including drop offs, awkward rock lines, cornering and the bunny hop. Here’s a short edit from our time riding drops on the DH track.
