Great Blog write up of a skills day…..

Check out for a write up of a one to one skills day from last week that combined riding at Lee Quarry and in Calderdale. Col enjoyed the day and even reviews the beer we drank at the end of it all.

Nial’s Singular Hummingbird

He’s finally built up the frame that he won at Singlespeed UK 2009. The Hummingbird is the latest frame from Singular Cycles. Nial’s is built as a rigid 69er with 32/18 gearing and we went out in Calderdale today for the first ride.

He says it’s nice and light and it’s the fastest I’ve seen him ride up the climb home from Hebden Bridge.

Conditions are perfect at the moment. Dry and fast in places and nicely sticky in the woods. I’m looking forward to getting some miles on the Hummingbird myself next week. Good job he got a medium 🙂

Check out the Singular site here for all the details on the Hummingbird.

Singular Cycles Road Trip in Calderdale

I took Steve and Sam from Singular Cylcles (along with Dom the Singletrack work experience lad) for a tour of some Calderdale trails earlier in the week. They had been racing at the Singletrack Classic Weekender and wanted to try some of the renowned Hebden Bridge riding while they were in the area. Good company, good riding and as you can see good Timothy Taylors Landlord & Golden Best ale was enjoyed.

Four UK designed bikes outside The Cross Inn in Heptonstall, where we had a fine pub stop  –  Two Ragley Ti’s, Sam’s Singular Swift and Steve’s prototype titanium Singular Pegasus. Check out for more details of the big wheeled bikes.

98% Buff in Calderdale

I rode up the Penny Steps today as part of my ride on the Mojo. I’m writing a review of the bike for the next issue of Singletrack, having been riding it in a couple of different builds over the past 9 months.  Everything out there on the trails is dry, fast and just yummy.
